Medical practice relocation task board
Every task for moving a medical practice, from site readiness to the first clinic day, with owners and checks so patients notice nothing.
The problem
Moving a medical practice touches everything at once: internet and phones, the clinical system and its server, secure messaging, printers and label printers, the after-hours message and the patient reminder system. Miss one and results stop arriving or patients cannot get through.
What we built
A relocation board in four stages, each task with an owner and a check that proves it is done.
- Site readiness: internet ordered and tested, data cabling, power for the server and comms cabinet, phone numbers ported.
- Pre-move: full backup verified, clinical and messaging software inventory, printer and scanner list, staff told what changes.
- Moving day: shut down in order, move, start up in order, test each room.
- Post-move verification: results arriving through secure messaging, prescriptions printing, phones and after-hours message, patient reminders sending, backup running.
The board at a glance
| Site readiness | Pre-move | Moving day | Verified |
|---|---|---|---|
| Internet tested | Backup verified | Server shut down in order | Results arriving |
| Numbers ported | Software inventory | Rooms tested | Scripts printing |
| Staff briefed | Backup running |
Outcome
Planned for a real practice move. Generic version suitable for any GP or specialist clinic.
