Backup & Disaster Recovery
Tested backups and recovery plans that get you back online fast after any incident.
An untested backup is not a backup, it is a hope. Plenty of businesses discover during a crisis that the backup job that reported green for two years cannot actually restore. Our rule is simple: every backup we manage is restore-tested on a schedule, with the evidence documented.
We design backup around how fast you need to be running again. For some businesses that is files back within the hour; for a medical practice it is the whole clinical system on standby hardware. Daily backups with sensible retention are the baseline, with cloud and on-premises copies where the risk justifies it.
Every managed client gets a documented disaster recovery plan: what is backed up, where it lives, who does what during an incident, and how long recovery takes. When something does go wrong, ransomware, hardware failure, flood or simple human error, the plan is already written.

Common questions
How often should a business back up its data?
Daily at minimum, and for systems that change constantly, more often. Just as important as frequency are retention, keeping enough history to recover from problems discovered late, and restore testing, because a backup that has never been test-restored is a hope rather than a plan.
Are files in OneDrive or SharePoint already backed up?
Not in the way most people assume. OneDrive keeps files available and synced, but ransomware syncs into it, recycle bins empty on a schedule, and Microsoft explicitly leaves data protection to you. An independent backup with its own retention is what makes the data recoverable.
How fast could we recover after ransomware?
With a proper backup and a documented recovery plan, most small businesses can be working again within hours, restoring from the last clean copy. Without one, recovery is measured in weeks, if it happens at all. The difference is preparation, not luck.
